Sterling's World

Terms of Service

Effective June 24, 2026 · By using Sterling's World, you agree to the terms below.

Welcome to Sterling's World. This is a small, independent passion project — a cozy digital theme park about life with MS, made mostly for fun. These terms are meant to be plain-spoken and human; we'll keep the legalese to a minimum.

1. Ownership & copyright

This website is the sole property of its creator. All visual art, written content, characters (including Sterling), audio, and code are protected by copyright and remain the creator's property. You're welcome to browse, read, listen, play, and share links — but please don't copy, resell, or repackage the site's content as your own.

2. Accessibility for everyone

Accessibility is a priority here, not an afterthought. We aim to make the site usable for as many people as possible — adjustable text, read-aloud, reduced-motion support, and gentle pacing for folks managing limited energy. If something gets in your way, we want to hear about it so we can fix it.

3. Privacy & analytics

Here's the straight truth. We use basic website analytics (currently Google Analytics, configured with privacy options on) to understand how the park is used — things like which pages get visited, general device type, and your approximate location by country/region — all in aggregate. You don't have to sign in, and your preferences (theme, where you left off in the book, and so on) are kept on your own device wherever we can.

Cookies? Almost none. The site itself sets no tracking cookies — analytics runs in a cookieless mode, and your preferences live in your browser's local storage, not cookies. The one exception is opt-in: the Spotify jukebox is a third-party player that only loads when you tap to play it, and Spotify may set its own cookies at that point. Because nothing tracking-related loads before you choose it, there's no cookie banner to click through.

An honest heads-up about marketing: we intend to use this site-traffic and country/region data for marketing purposes — to understand who's enjoying Sterling's World and to reach more people who might. We're not doing that yet, but we're actively working toward it, and we'd rather be upfront about it now than bury it later. We don't sell your personal information.

4. Entertainment, not medical care

Sterling's World offers entertainment and a sense of community and support — but it is not a medical site. Nothing here is medical, mental-health, or professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always talk to a qualified professional about your health.

No liability for health claims. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim any liability for medical or health-related claims, decisions, or outcomes arising from use of this site. If you're in crisis, please use the resources on our Support & Resources page or call or text 988 (U.S.).

5. Sponsorships & disclosures

Sterling's World may seek or accept sponsorships, partnerships, or affiliate arrangements with brands relevant to the MS community. Whenever something is sponsored, or a link is a paid or affiliate link, we'll label it clearly right where it appears — not buried down here.

A sponsor is not a medical recommendation. Featuring or partnering with a product or brand is never an endorsement of any health outcome. Nothing here claims that any product treats, prevents, cures, or relieves MS or any symptom — see "Entertainment, not medical care" above.

To find partners, we may share aggregate, anonymized audience information — such as overall traffic and general country/region — with current or prospective sponsors. We do not share or sell your personal information.

6. Fan art & sharing

Fan art is genuinely welcomed and makes our day — just don't claim it as your own. Credit Sterling's World when you share, and keep it kind.

And if you use the art to impress someone and get a date? You're free to spin whatever story you like — as long as you come clean about the truth by the next morning. 🥄

7. Changes to these terms

The park grows and changes, so these terms may be updated now and then; the "effective" date above will always reflect the latest version. Questions? Reach out through the Support page.
